About the author:

I spend a significant amount of time with young people and am often asked to speak with underperforming students to try to motivate them to do better. Over time, these conversations have shaped what I now call the "Active Learning System." In many cases, the results of my conversations with underperforming students have led to dramatic improvements in their performances at school.

The skills described in this book helped me do well in medical school. I wish I had known about them earlier. High school and college would have been much less stressful, and I would have performed better at every stage.

My background - I am a board-certified ophthalmologist. My professional activities include clinical research and consulting through my company, SurgiVision® Consultants, Inc. My wife and I have raised four children. Over the years I have served in several volunteer positions in the community, particularly through scouting, and have served as a Grand Awards judge and Section Chair at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair since 2005.

This book is something I've wanted to write for a long time. All proceeds will go to promotion and providing students with resources, such as scholarships. Special promotions are available for teachers, schools, youth groups and foundations--please send me a note at GMK@GradesEqualMoney.com for more information.
